The Personality Number in Numerology and How to Find Yours

7–10 minutes

In physics, we understand that everything has a vibration, while a numerologist believes that all numbers have unique vibrations. Although there are (ironically) countless numbers in mathematics, in numerology there only exists the numbers one through nine. The reason for this is due to simplification, which mathematics also follows.

When we simplify, the goal is to find the smallest possible number, which is a single digit. If you take the number 3,069, for example, and simplify it, your result is 9. Likewise, if you simplify the number 999, your end result is 9. In fact, if you added a million nines together and simplified the result, you’d also wind up with the number 9.

Like astrology, we can create an entire chart for an individual, unique to each person in numerology. We do this by using personal information, such as the birthday and name. Different pieces of info deliver separate aspects of a numerology chart.

The Life Path Number, Birthday Number, Expression Number, Soul Urge Number, and Personality Number are some of the most essential elements on a numerology chart. Astrology places the most importance on the Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Rising Sign, calling these placements the “big three.” Similarly, the Life Path Number is sort of a Sun Sign, the Birthday Number is like the Moon Sign, and the Expression Number can be compared to the Rising Sign.

Just as there’s more to astrology than the sun, moon, and rising sign, there’s also an extended selection of numerology tools and insights, such as the Personality Number. The Personality Number is self-explanatory. It describes the place in one’s personal numerology chart that reveals their personal traits and characteristics.

Expression VS Personality

Sometimes confused for being the same as the Expression Number, the Personality Number slightly differs. While the Expression Number is about how one outwardly expresses themselves, the Personality Number is more about one’s true nature. Yet, both numbers help to paint a more vivid picture.

Furthermore, the EN (Expression Number) regards how a person interacts with the external world, including their actions and reactions to stimuli. On the other hand, the PN (Personality Number) is about what makes the person an individual, setting them apart from others. The PN is connected to how that stimuli (referenced by the EN) interacts with the individual, helping them to form their own personality and identity.

Unlike the Life Path and Birthday Numbers, the Soul Urge, Expression, and Personality Numbers are discovered by converting letters into numbers. Numerologists are able to do this by using the chart (as seen in the image) to find the value of each letter. For example, the letters A, J, and S all have a value of 1.

The letters that are used for finding the Personality Number are the ones within a person’s full name at the time of their birth. However, while the EN includes all the letters in the name, the Soul Urge uses only the vowels. Conversely, the PN uses only the consonants.

Use the tabs in the example below to see how Numerologists find out what an individual’s Personality number is.

Meanings of Each Personality Number

Now that we have figured out how to solve the mystery of finding out one’s Personality Number, we can see how each one differs. Again, Numerologists believe that each number has a unique vibration. This gives them their own sets of defining characteristics, especially within the core personality.

If you’ve found out what your Personality Number is, go ahead and read about it below.

1

If you have a one as your Personality Number, you’re naturally confident and unafraid to take risks. The older you get, the more bold you become, having less desire to conceal the strength within your personality. On the other hand, you may sometimes come across as condescending due to domineering traits. With that being said, others may see you as intimidating, aggressive, or overly-competitive.

2

With a two Personality Number, you probably keep a lot close to your chest. You may have a fear of trusting other people and this is likely due to your strong sensitivities. Being able to read others with ease, this level of empathy has profoundly shaped you. However, it has also meant that you’ve witnessed a great deal of the negative sides of life and the world. Therefore, you may frequently swing from states of overwhelm to detachment.

3

As a three personality, you innately possess skills in creativity. You quickly make friends with other creative types of people because this is your strongest personality trait, making it highly important in your life. On the other hand, you might struggle to commit to things and oftentimes lack the desire for responsibilities. People generally expect you to be running late, but when you arrive, it’ll be in your own unique style.

4

If you’re a four, you’re driven by the need to organize, feeling most like yourself when your environment is tidy. Life has taught you that when things are in order, everything runs more efficiently. People know that they can always rely on you to help them find that structure. However, you may be somewhat neurotic and critical, which means that people may also fear your judgement.

5

Having a five as your Personality Number, you’re highly independent and naturally carve your own path in life. You don’t like feeling like you must wait on others, making you prone to impatience. You’re adventurous, but others often feel you’re a bit difficult to rely on. Lastly, you’re easily distracted as you unconsciously seek new experiences.

6

As a six, you’re someone that prioritizes comfort, which means that you don’t exactly enjoy being taken out of what you’re used to. You understand Netflix and Chill since it’s probably one of your favorite hobbies. There’s a sense of softness and warm understanding in your personality. Conversely, you have no qualms with defending those you love as loyalty is something you both possess and respect.

7

With a seven personality, you’re easily bored and need almost constant stimulation to feel satisfied in any given situation. Otherwise, you’ll become anxious if you’re not able to focus on something interesting. Yet, it’s paradoxically challenging for you to focus at all. Lastly, you’re perceptive, extremely logical, and this might mean that you sometimes miss out on life’s intriguing mysteries.

8

Incredibly ambitious, having an eight as your personality number means that you’re equipped for nearly all of life’s challenges. Not to mention, you’re able to find a balance in most areas of your life successfully. Of all the signs, focusing is something you’re great at doing if you see potential in something. You don’t give up easily, which means you’ve acquired many useful skills, making others endlessly impressed by you.

9

If you have a nine Personality Number, you have been met with intense obstacles within your life, which has given you an edginess. This could mean that you’re rather dark and elusive. You might also be moody and sensitive, but it’s because you’re often burdened by the heaviness that exists in the suffering of the world. However, this may be at a deep level within your psyche, away from your awareness.

11

For the eleven Personality Number, your intuition is your strongest quality, forever guiding you in life. Likewise, your awareness is constantly strengthening as you take on each experience as a lesson, learning as you go. Because of that, you’re full of wisdom, which means you assist others on their journey too. You enjoy feeling like you can inspire others to learn, grow, and heal too.

22

If you have a twenty-two for your Personality Number, you unknowingly seek out challenges so that you may rise above them. You’re able to do this through a set of skills you’ve gained from resources you’ve collected. Motivated by climbing ladders and testing your own strength, you somehow always find a solution to any problem. However, you’ve faced many setbacks simply from others acting out of their envy of your natural talents.
